2016 Scholarships

Tony Platt Scholarships

BSA scholarships have been established for industry professionals who, without scholarship assistance, could not afford to attend ABX. Established in memory of Tony Platt FAIA, a Boston architect and visionary who died in 1998, these scholarships cover up to two ABX workshops. At the heart of Tony’s vision was a commitment to broadening the intellectual and professional opportunities for everyone in the industry.

We are no longer accepting applications for ABX 2016. Questions about future scholarships can be directed to info@abexpo.com.

Women in Design Scholarships

Women In Design (WiD) celebrates and encourages success and leadership for women in the design community. As such, we offer four full-day scholarships—two student, two professional—to attend the ABx symposium, “In The Public's Interest,” November 16, 2016. This year we explore the impact of public-interest design on the evolving building industry. With questions, contact widboston@gmail.com.

When applying, select “Women in Design Scholarship” and respond to one of the following:

  1. How do you define “public-interest”?
  2. How do you educate the public on the importance of design?
  3. Describe a personal experience of a public space and how its design affected the experience.

Thank you to Graphisoft and Stantec, the WiD symposium’s platinum sponsors, for making these scholarships possible.
